Skelmir's CEE-J™ Virtual Machine Technology Now Available for Equator's BSP™ Platform

- Solution ideal for delivering interactive streaming media content and applications -

CAMPBELL, Calif. and SOMERVILLE, Mass. - March 25, 2002 - Equator Technologies Inc., the leading provider of video streaming and processing engines and platforms, and Skelmir LLC, creators of proven clean room virtual machines, libraries and compilation tools designed for the Embedded Java™ Platform, today announced the immediate availability of the CEE-J™ virtual machine on the Equator BSP™ platform. The CEE-J virtual machine on the BSP platform enables developers of broadband streaming media solutions to gain access to the world of Java-enabled applications.

CEE-J, the compatible execution environment designed for the Embedded Java™ Platform, is Skelmir's suite of fast, compact and proven virtual machines for enabling Java™ on embedded devices. CEE-J configurations include support for CLDC, MIDP, Embedded and PersonalJava™. Real Time Java™ extensions, bytecode compilers, remote debugging and profiling tools are also available. With CEE-J on the BSP platform, developers will be able to use Java™ to deliver interactive content and applications to high-performance, broadband, streaming-media platforms.

"Equator has been recognized as the leading provider of processors for the highest performance interactive streaming media applications. Our customers are optimizing system performance with the computational power of Equator's BSP engines, and reducing overall system cost by using a single BSP chip to replace multiple processors and fixed-function ASICS. In doing so, our customers are relying on us for platform support for traditional host-processor functions," said Dr. Avi Katz, president and CEO of Equator Technologies. "Equator is committed to providing our customers with a standards-based, open platform. We are excited about our partnership with Skelmir, which will provide our customers with a high-performance platform with all the benefits of Java™ as an open platform, to deliver more features and to track standards such as MHP."

"Skelmir's proven, small footprint, high-performance technologies offer advanced graphical capabilities not found elsewhere, which makes them ideal for interactive media solutions. Our partnership with Equator enables us to provide customers with a high-speed, award-winning, multimedia platform on which to launch their next-generation offerings. These range from MHP-enabled set-top boxes to telematics, surveillance devices and more. Having worked extensively with Equator's technologies, we are confident that the BSP line of processors will make a substantial impact in many industries," said Shari Agatstein, president of Skelmir.
