SAN DIEGO September 18, 2000 - Patriot Scientific Corporation (OTC: BB: PTSC), today announced that Skelmir LLC, a developer of virtual machines, libraries and compilation tools for Java, has ported its Compatible Execution Environment for Java (CEE-J) system software to Patriot's PSC1000 family of Java microprocessors.
CEE-J is the highly scalable, field-proven virtual machine for Java from Skelmir. With the smallest usable footprint on the market, customers looking to deploy the power of Java on resource-constrained devices can control memory footprint without sacrificing functionality. Ideal for set-top boxes, Internet appliances, web pads, and other resource limited embedded devices, CEE-J provides device manufactures with Java technology optimized for their particular requirements, without consuming extra memory for features they do not need. Skelmir's CEE-J technology has been deployed on over 1,000,000 set top boxes used for European satellite television.
